UPDATE: Jacie Lee, the 3-year-old who went missing in Port Allen's Antonio Subdivision area, has died after being transported to a Plaquemine hospital, according to the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.
The child was found in a swimming pool across the street from where her family was located and went into cardiac arrest. She was immediately transported by ambulance with a heavy police escort to a hospital in Plaquemine, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to Sheriff's Office officials, the family was in a garage when Her Mom went to use the restroom. When they returned, they noticed the 3-year-old was no longer in the area. The call to authorities came in around 3:00 PM, and the child had been missing for "an extended amount of time" before being found.
Deputies found Jacie's clothing during the search. The Sheriff's Office is treating this as an accidental drowning, though the investigation remains ongoing.
The Sheriff's Office has not provided additional details about the timeline between when the child was found and transported to the hospital.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
