WBR Fire crews with bystander assistance locate two patients in water, initiate advanced life support care

WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH — West Baton Rouge Fire Department crews responded to a boating accident on the Intracoastal Water Way this evening, successfully locating two patients in the water and transporting them to medical facilities.

According to the WBR Fire Department, fire and medical crews working with assistance from bystanders located two patients in the water and initiated advanced life support care. Both patients were moved to the Morley Marina Boat Launch for transport.

One patient was transported by AirMed while the other was transported by WBR Fire to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

Emergency Response

The rescue operation involved multiple agencies and civilian assistance, highlighting the coordinated emergency response capabilities in the parish. The department credited bystanders for their assistance in locating the patients in the water.

WBR Fire Department has requested prayers for all involved in the incident.
