PORT ALLEN — A Port Allen man has been arrested on five counts of second degree rape involving a juvenile victim, and two additional individuals have been charged for failing to report the crimes to law enforcement.

Sheriff Jeff Bergeron announced that on the morning of January 23, deputies with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint regarding a sexual assault at a residence in the 2400 block of Riverside Drive in Brusly.

Detectives launched an investigation and determined that 44-year-old Clayton Cooper of Port Allen had committed acts of sexual misconduct involving a juvenile victim over the age of 13 on at least five separate occasions.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim's mother, 41-year-old Katie Green of Port Allen, and stepfather, 43-year-old Dallas Green, had previously been informed by the victim of the sexual misconduct but failed to report the information to law enforcement.

Cooper was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on five counts of second degree rape and one count of possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine).

Katie Green and Dallas Green were each booked into the detention center on one count of failure to report the commission of certain felonies (rape).

This remains an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
