Shots fired from vehicle near Brown's Cafe; investigation ongoing

BRUSLY — The West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Saturday in the Brown's Cafe area, according to Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Sergeant Landon Groger.

The incident involved shots fired from a vehicle near the popular restaurant on Choctaw Road in Brusly.

"There were shots fired from a vehicle and we're investigating it," Sergeant Landon Groger confirmed Monday morning, adding that investigators don't believe the incident was targeted at any specific individuals.

The Brusly Police Department initially responded to the scene but referred the investigation to the sheriff's office, which is serving as the lead agency on the case.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting.

Groger said the investigation remains active and declined to provide additional details while the case is ongoing.

The sheriff's office has not released information about potential suspects or motives in the shooting.
